Excellence in English: Living the Language

This is a unique English language experience, situated directly on the South East Coast of England, with easy access to London. It is a family run homestay programme with the teaching group size comprising of between 3 and 6 students; additional 1:1 tuition is available. The age range of students is between 13 and 19 years. The course represents excellent value and offers great opportunities for students to benefit from accelerated learning of English whilst gaining an understanding of the British culture.

The programme involves total immersion in English, and students stay in a beautiful Victorian town house, within a two minute walk of sandy beaches. Students receive intensive English lessons which enable rapid progress in English language competence; lessons are adapted to suit the learners' requirements allowing maximum benefit. Resources are included for students to take home to support learning during the following year. The course is packed with great trips, outings and sporting activities.

The Host Tutor is very experienced in teaching, with particular expertise in speech and language, and receives outstanding reviews. The adult family and social environment offer numerous opportunities for language practice and facilitate an enjoyable networking experience.

An intensive and enjoyable course

 Enjoy living and learning with a friendly English family by the sea.

 English tuition for 15 hours per week within a language-rich programme.

 Stays of 2, 3 or 4 weeks: spring, summer, autumn and winter.

 Maximum of 6 students in a group, aged from 13 to 19 years.

 Additionally, courses for students aged between 9 years and 13 years can be arranged.

 Individual student stays, with one to one tuition (15 hours+ per week) are available for all ages during non-holiday times.

 Courses are tailored to students' requirements.

 Students are assessed on arrival and receive a certificate of achievement at the end of the course.

 Every afternoon and evening students enjoy trips, sports and activities.

 An option to spend an afternoon in a British school.

 Opportunities to learn about British culture and heritage.

 Full board with delicious traditional British food.

The Host Tutor is an experienced language teacher with high levels of expertise

  Fully qualified English Language Teacher (TESOL).

 Experienced Speech and Language Therapist (BSc).

 Nine years working in secondary schools focusing on language teaching, memory and thinking skills.

 Expertise in teaching linguistics, phonetics and literacy.

 Fifteen years experience hosting students from around the world.

The accommodation is in a period 19th century house  

 Gorgeous detached Victorian town house built in 1839 with historic features.

 Three storey building with four twin bedrooms available.

 Bathroom dedicated to students (all bedrooms have basins).

 Comfortable guest accommodation, with access to communal living areas.

London is within easy access of our location

 Situated just over an hour away from London on the South Coast.

 Close to historic sites: Sandwich, Walmer, Dover and Chatham, etc.

 20 minute drive to the most visited city outside London – Canterbury.

 30 minute coastal walk to the beautiful seaside town of Broadstairs.

 2 minute walk to the picturesque beach and harbour in Ramsgate.

The Branton Family

Mr Ian Branton is a Primary School Teacher and visiting students have contact with our four children, Julia (24), Alexander (24), Victoria (21) and William (21), who are respectively studying: Occupational Therapy (Fine Art); Economics (fluent Mandarin speaker); Nutrition and Dietetics; and Graphic Design in Canterbury and London. We are very experienced in working with young people, and students have a great time as well as making significant progress with their language and communication skills.

 Price and Payment

 The price for 2012 is £620 each week per student (maximum of 6 students in a group).

 Tuition (15 hours per week), trips, sports and activities are included in the price, as are all meals and accommodation.

 A deposit of £200 will secure a place on the course (non-refundable), and the remaining balance is due 4 weeks prior to arrival.
